This Friday is when High Ground opens in theaters around the country. Of course, we are having a special showing here in Golden, Colorado with Jon Krakauer introducing and producer Michael Brown and soldiers answering questions. There is also a Los Angeles event at the Pasadena Playhouse with additional bookings in Boston, MA, Columbus, Ohio plus many other theaters in the next few weeks. Alas, a big event was scheduled for New York City but the theater currently has no power thanks to Sandy. Take your mind off politics—just think, 2 hours without negative commercials!
Starting Tuesday, November 6th (yes, Election Day) you will be able to watch High Ground at home on Movies on Demand, iTunes, Netfilx, etc. — virtually any place where you buy your movies and entertainment. Chris Bacon’s powerful soundtrack to High Ground is available for download now on iTunes and the trailer with some new bonus clips is on the iTunes trailer site.
On Veterans Day (November 12th), Walt Disney Studios is screening the film in Burbank for their employees and veterans from their Heroes Work Here program as well as employees at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The film is also being shown for Veterans Day at Apple, Inc.’s campus in Cupertino and at Pixar Animation Studios. The final festival screening is at the Napa Film Festival in November.
Looking to next year, High Ground will air on television around Memorial Day and it looks like United Airlines will offer it on long distance flights! Producer Don Hahn and his team are also working hard to get the film shown at military bases and hospitals around the country.
Hope to see you in Golden on Friday. If you can’t make it, please make an effort to see this awesome movie and share it with your friends!
