National Federation of the Blind http://www.nfb.org The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) has sponsored Erik on two Himalayan expeditions, an ascent of Ama Dablam, touted as the most beautiful peak in the world, a practice climb for Everest; and a 2001 ascent of Mt. Everest, 29,035’, the highest peak in the world. NFB is using these climbs to focus attention on the capabilities of blind people and to shatter the public’s perceptions about what is possible, not only for blind people, but for all of us in our lives.
